A diverse group of volunteers join together for a meaningful day of service on Martin Luther King Day. Our activities include learning about the legacy of Martin Luther King and strengthening interfaith ties in the local East NY community, as well as packing and distributing over 80 bountiful food packages to needy and at-risk families. Dozens of families from local NYCHA developments and several Holocaust survivors will join us for a portion of the program, which will include musical performances and poetry readings. A light breakfast will be served upon registration. A pizza lunch will be provided for volunteers at the conclusion of the event. We are limiting the group to a maximum of 100 people.
