Join us to hear from Jewish community leader and author Mimi Zieman, as she discusses Tap Dancing on Everest, her part coming-of-age memoir, part true-survival adventure story.
As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor raised in an Orthodox community in New York City, Mimi, a young medical student, battled self-doubt to serve as the doctor, and only woman, on a groundbreaking Everest climb in Tibet. Mimi’s story of resilience, strength, and tikkun olam will inspire, uplift, and motivate us to reflect on our own legacies. What will yours be?
Plus, you’ll learn more about UJA’s powerful work confronting the sharp rise in antisemitism, responding to the ongoing war in Israel, and helping New Yorkers of all backgrounds here at home.
All attendees will receive a copy of Tap Dancing on Everest.
Lunch will be served. Dietary laws observed.
