At this critical moment for our Jewish community, join UJA’s Westchester Business and Professional Division for our annual Spring Dinner as we honor Debra Abrahams Weiner for her philanthropic leadership and the Strum family – Sybil and Adam Strum and their daughters, Erika Strum Silberstein and Jacqueline Strum, for their dedication to philanthropy.
 
We’ll also hear about UJA’s powerful work healing and rebuilding Israel, confronting the sharp rise in antisemitism, and helping New Yorkers of all backgrounds here at home.

After graduating from Rollins College, Adam Strum entered the same profession as his father, and represented the Gallo Winery in the New York market. The inspiration behind Wine Enthusiast Companies came about when he and his wife, Sybil, looked for a corkscrew that was nowhere to be found. 

In 1979, the Strums placed a small ad in a gourmet magazine for a corkscrew. Sybil Strum

Co-founder and Chief Brand Officer, Wine Enthusiast Companies

Sybil Strum co-founded Wine Enthusiast Companies in 1979 with her husband, Adam. She serves as the chief brand officer and manages the charity arm of the company, the Wine Enthusiast Foundation. 

Since their company’s inception, Adam and Sybil have been committed to giving back to communities, supporting organizations that promote health, the environment, gender equality, the arts, and funds that help the wine and food worlds during crises. 

In February 2024, Wine Enthusiast became a Certified B Corporation. Sybil has been a member of the Committee of 200 for more than 15 years and is a part of The Women's Forum of New York, a network of women leaders and entrepreneurs.

Erika Strum Silberstein is president of the Commerce division at Wine Enthusiast Companies. Wine Enthusiast is a Certified B Corporation with a mission to make wine approachable for all. 

Erika has been with the company for 16 years and has a proven track record of growing revenue and making change. She leads with empathy and analytics, putting herself in the shoes of the customer. Jacqueline Strum is president of the Media division at Wine Enthusiast Companies. At the start of her Wine Enthusiast tenure, she managed the corporate PR strategy and revamped consumer and industry events, including the annual premier Wine Star Awards gala.

She left the family business to learn about publishing and digital media before returning to start ThirstyNest, the first wine and spirits registry for the modern couple.
