We’re thrilled to announce that Beyond the Book is back for another season of exciting and insightful conversations about literature, art, and life. This year, we’ll be reading books by three Israeli authors and engaging in conversations hosted by our returning moderator, Ellen Witchell.

Our first book is Between Friends, by Amos Oz, a selection of eight interconnected short stories set on a fictional kibbutz in the 1950s, written in the unique style that made Oz internationally famous.

Come read with us! By participating, you’ll also strengthen UJA’s powerful work responding to the ongoing war in Israel and helping New Yorkers of all backgrounds here at home.

This series welcomes donors who give a gift of $1,000 or more, individually or as a family, to UJA's 2025 Annual Campaign.
